Sure, if you don't comment on Akismet enabled blogs you won't get blacklisted by Akismet. But you do realize you're still getting no backlinks from akismet enabled blogs, right?

I think commenting on blogs with non-existent domains is ONLY USEFUL when you want to avoid heavily moderated blogs because heavily moderated blogs will not only mark your comment as spam (and your domain will get blacklisted by Akismet) but they will eventually report you to: Google, your hosting provider, your Internet provider and finally your domain company. :crazy:

So, perhaps a good idea (besides web 2.0 buffer sites) would be to link to shortened URLs which redirect to your main site (assuming bit.ly and similar shorteners don't get banned by akismet)? In theory 301 redirects pass on link juice.

Few weeks ago a BHW user suggested that we buy .info domains and redirect them once they get Akismet blacklisted. IMHO it's not worth the money. Besides you get blacklisted in no time so even if you manage to build 100 comments on Akismet enabled blogs it won't make any difference SEO-wise. Not to mention that many of these comments will be deleted in the next 24 hours.

It looks like non-moderated blogs are our only source of blog backlinks. I don't see many casino online backlinks on popular high PR blogs
