Hoplink Abuse Question

To ensure proper tracking of your HopLink referrals, your HopLink needs to open into the top level of a new or existing window. For most affiliates, this is not a problem. However, some affiliates attempt to hide their HopLinks by having them open into other types of sub-window objects, such as frames, iframes, layers, applets, or images.

My question is, if I write a script so when someone clicks the page at anytime a popup to the sales page will appear behind the browser (doesn't work all the time) and will redirect 10% of the traffic to the sales page automatically, is this classified as hoplink abuse?

IMO people wont sign up to a back loaded join form so you're wasting your time. Maybe consider a live chat option that they can join while on your tour page where you can sell them your stuff/answer questions instead.
