Hopeless Insomniac

    I can't sleep! I am a confirmed insomniac...anyone else?

    Actually I don't wanna sleep...or maybe I do a little. It's a toss up. Anyone have any suggestions for getting to sleep? Or even minimizing my requirement for a lot of sleep?

    I can't handle the drugs for sleep...so I need some creative methods.

    Never had this problem .. I sleep 8 hours stre8 nothing less nothing more each nigh or day ( depending on how much time spend at computer :) )
    Have you tried to take a long walk before bed ?!

    I found that exercise knocks me out. I mean something heavy, I do weights, you and a bit of running, you can pick either an aerobic workout or heavy lifting. Stuff like that helps me to sleep.

    1) Reduce medication gradually

    2) Get lots of exercise in the day. Not at night cause it will be even harder to fall a sleep.

    3) Sleep and wake up at the same time everyday.

    4) Drink lots of water.

    5) If you lie on your bed and can't sleep after 30 minutes, do something for a while and try going to sleep again.

    6) If you still can't sleep repeat your thought in slow motiooonnnnnnn...........

    P.S Try to not think about sleeping. It always helps when I think about a place. For example I imagine that I am at the beach.

    I will try your recommendations. I do need to get off my Azz sitting in front of this computer making a buck and have some me time with exercise. I love weights. It just so happens my gym stays open 24-7. So what am I waiting for right?

    I get so consumed with the IM that I forget other stuff. Oh well, maybe if I didn't enjoy it so much:)

    I know you mentioned drugs.. More otc type thing I use is Unisom tablets.. :)

    Just starting IM; I couldn't sleep much.. I would get 5 hours max cause I put so much strain on my eyes.. Guess I couldn't adjust to sleep and everytime I tried it seemed like it would take forever to even fall asleep.. It's mainly this forum, it's the devil.. :) Would spend maybe 45min to an hour to browse all the new posts. Along with 6 other forums I browse, adult/wh/bh.. It adds up.. I now limited browsing to 10min per forum cause I just bs through stuff..

    Working out hands down would be best bet if I was you.. It's healthy. You just have to reach that certain near breaking point, which is hard to do. Once you get there though your body has to shut down sometime and it's usually sooner than if you was just sitting down for most of the day..

    Think happy thoughts? :|

    Never know, you might just need a better bed or comforter/pillows..

    well a creative way i would suggest is to lay in bed, and fantasize about things u like just slowly create a scenario where you are a billionaire and you can do what you want, or u having a ferrari, going on a ski trip and finding hot women, anything u w itll keep u busy until u fall asleep....

    also, a full stomach promotes sleep, its what lions do and is hy ppl get sluggish after big meals

    oh and all of you forgot about warm milk?!

    Yes, can't sleep for some reason neithers....

    You guys ever heard of brainsync? (sometimes this works for me sometimes it doesn't)

    best thing that gets me to sleep, is repeat your thought really slowly as if you actually are saying it in your head, gets me to sleep soo quickly

    If that is the same as brain wave entrainment then yes, worked for me as well.
    However after using it for several months I can't stand to listen to it anymore.

    yeah /agree with most. the exercise does it. If I get exercise during the day, I'm dead at 11pm. If I don't, it's 5am for me!!!!
