A few weeks ago, we began getting hacked by someone sending thousands to tens of thousands of fake profiles a day into our system. The profiles were coming directly into our main page and did not have an affiliate tracking code. This was strictly done as a malicious act. What began happening was it began clogging up our mail servers with bounces and reducing our deliverability and confirmation emails and hurting our Welcome Letter success rate. We worked to ban these profiles and stop the attack as fast as we could, but it didn't happen soon enough... Our deliverability rates suffered by about 20-30% as far as we could tell. Others have claimed higher, but we could not find the math to back worse claims up.
Since then we added in a number of safe guards and 3rd party tools such as BriteVerify, to assure that the emails for all of our members were real prior to submission. And we implemented two, 3rd party email delivery servers that are White Listed. Now if the first email goes out and it isn't confirmed, we send from the next 3rd party. If that one isn't confirmed, we continue to send for the next few days from our own internal servers.
This is business... It was a hard frustrating two weeks for us and we were working as hard as we could to solve all of the problems as fast as we could. Unfortunately, it wasn't fast enough to get a whole slew of people here turning against us. Such is life on the message boards. I'm glad I'm not a politician!
We are in business as you guys are and we take all of this very seriously. Unfortunately, there will sometimes be problems.
This one was one that caused more trouble than we hoped for, and I'm sure the hacker who caused this will be proud.

We will continue to work hard to improve our program. We do have one of the best names in the dating space! We hope as the dust settles, you will consider trying us out again.
But honestly, if you don't want to promote us and want to promote other sites, please do that. We paid our affiliates! We are nice guys working hard and things happen. Things became worse than we hoped... We suffered and some of our affiliates suffered because of it. We apologize.
Let's not keep this going down a negative rat hole. It doesn't help anyone but the hackers ego.
There is nothing that we want to do than for our affiliates to make a ton of money with us! That is a very exciting part of business and one that I thrive on! I'm sorry things didn't work out like I hoped... Maybe give us a few weeks and try us out again, or simply pass us by and let others try to promote us. I'm confident that we will be successful. But not with out some bumps in the road.
