Honesty?

Hey guys I'm still really new here. I've read so many threads and I appreciate the info from everyone. My question is this. Has anyone ever made a youtube video and tried honesty? What I mean is the video says the link below is to my product, fill out a survey and its yours. Is there any downside to this?

I don't mention in the video, but on my website it clearly says "download this and fill out a survey". It gives me higher conversions
