    Hi All,

after buying a link building service from a trusted seller on this site we ranked 6th for our keyword on the 1st of March - which was amazing, huge traffic increase.

However on Sunday (2nd March) we started to disappear from all sites and now our homepage has gone - completely.

What could have caused this? I have checked google webmasters area - no messages etc or manual action.

So basically after 1 day on page 1 we were removed from google!

    Backlinks were bought in January.

Why are people so hasty, it all happened yesterday. Wait for a week and then ask again..

Nope and it was my main source of traffic. It was 6th position for 1 day!

There are still over 800 results for a sitewide search, no sign of the homepage.

If time to move to new domain what approach should I take with buying link building?

Any tips/ threads to read? Appreciate it may have been a bad move but there's so much on here it's hard to pick what to trust.

Will start with domain number 2.

Sounds just like a Google penalty. I'v gone through the same thing.

Even if you have a Google penalty, some pages will be indexed. It will only de-index your homepage plus inner pages with bad links pointing towards it. Some pages might be unaffected and remain indexed but with poor rankings.

I had this happen for about 2 weeks before we got the Google Manual Penalty notice in webmasters.

My advice.... buy a completely new domain and copy the content over. DO NOT 301 or redirect your old domain, the penalty will follow.

I had a major .com that was penalized, so I moved to my .net with same content and ran that.

£1,500 on a link removal service, 8 months and 5 reconsideration requests later the .com came out of the penalty.

Google inform me that coming out of a penalty takes time to re-index all the pages and can take several weeks even with the penalty revoked.

Bottom line is... Your domain is dead now.

This is what I was dreading!

I do have a backup domain which has no link to the penalised site.

Is just buying backlinks from the marketplace going to get me into trouble again?
