Homepage not ranking

Hi everyone! Recently I found out that my website's home page isn't ranking. When I search for my website, it spits out a movie with the same name. I thought ok np, because lots of sites have this issue, but they rank right bellow the movie, but in my case when i type my websites name I dont see it in the first page.

I have never paid much attention to it since I only focus on so called "money pages" and they rank pretty well. Now this issue caught my eye and I want to fix it ASAP.

Wanted to know, can someone give some tips on how to rank for my websites name in this situation, Is it content or backlinks or what?
Any tips will be much appriciated.

"name" (ie title of the page), or "name" as in domain name?? Because there's a difference...

If you type the domain name and it doesn't come up it could be that the homepage is not indexed yet, but if you type the title of the homepage and it doesn't show up it means that the page is either not indexed, or it could be indexed but it's not ranking.

it could be many things (although, most of the time it's either content or backlinks indeed). But it could also be the niche, your site's overall SEO (topical authority, speed, mobile friendliness, technical SEO, etc)...

Hard to pinpoint the problem without knowing anything about your site, niche, and keywords you target, but the best (albeit general) advice we can give you is to analyze your top competitors in that niche and try to mimic what they're doing and you should - at the very least - rank in top 20-30 if you copy their strategies, and from there on it's just a matter of improving the little things (more & better links, more and better content, more traffic, etc)
