homepage not indexed? Why subpages are?

I had a site and the .com homepage URL is not indexed anyone, it was indexed a week ago. But suddenly disappeared today. The subpages are still indexed such a domain.com/contact-us etc

Any one know what happened? would it come back?

note: recently updated the sites design/content etc.
