Hello my homepage disappeared ~30h ago from SERPs,

My homepage is high quality, well written, a lot of content, no adsense, no ads above the fold, static site not wordpress

My site positions before it disappeared:
keyword1 - homepage ranking on 4
keyword2 - homepage ranking on 5
some long tails - homepage ranking on 1-2

I was doing constant manual link building (commenting manually) and everything was great till one day. I always was building links on mixed blogs, but this day my blog list was not so well mixed. I thought it will not matter, and I created ~20 comments on blogspots and ~5 comments on other various platforms. And a few hours later I lost all my rankings.

I checked precisely the results till the last result page

keyword1 - homepage not ranking //some subpages that were never search engine optimized were ranking between 100-1000
keyword2 - homepage not ranking //some subpages that were never search engine optimized were ranking between 100-1000
some long tails - homepage not ranking //some subpages that were never search engine optimized were ranking between 100-1000
site:domain.com - homepage ranking on 1st spot
domain.com - homepage ranking on 1st spot

Now I have a choice.
a) Forget about this website, because I have a lot of work on my other sites
b) Do a really high quality link building (manual web 2.0 with high quality content, amr with high quality content, etc), it's 40h-50h of work and I don't know if this would help.

What do you think? What are the chances that option b) will rescue this site? Do you ever had similar situation?

welcome to the club...penguin just shit on your face...

Quick question: how mixed were your anchor link texts?

40% keyword1, 30% keyword2, 20% long tails, 10% domain.com

i have so much animosity towards google right now...remember, NEVER click on an organic ad result showing...that is money in google's pocket...

don't buy an android phone in the future...

so many people talk of boycotting google, there are two very simple things all of us can do...

40% keyword1, 30% keyword2, 20% long tails, 10% domain.com

What does this mean? It means that every single site we looked at which got negatively hit by the Penguin Update had a ?money keyword? as its anchor text for over 60% of its incoming links. On the other hand, the sites that were not hit by the update had much more random percentages. Having over 60% of your anchor text being a money keyword did not guarantee that your site would be hit by the penalty (many of the sites not affected had numbers just as bad), but if under 50% of your anchor text for incoming links were ?money keywords? it?s all but guaranteed you weren?t affected by this update.

4 of my sites tanked by Google! What techniques to get back....They are PR3-PR1...

this is the million dollar question and there is no GREAT solution right now...only hard work and manual link building...get links your competitors can't...

BreakAllTheClocks pointed to a very significant issue. Rising anchor text diversity may be helpful.

Should I try to rescue this site or forget about it?

this happened to me too but my site was ranking for the /index.php version as well - make sure you have proper 301'ing

How diverse is your link building strategy? From your main post, all I can pick up on was blog comments.

My own site went up i never use anchor texts everyone was using them so i thought Google would eventually clamp down on them the update helped one of my sites and killed a tiny bit traffic on the others. I find one thing funny i did a bit freelance work for a firm and they wanted anchor texts in everything well i did what they said and it kinda worked i told them not to do that but called me like a kid and stupid anyway i said i don't want paid or any money there rank did go up by one guess what its fell by 2 on all there pages the last week or so. What i would say is don't put anchor links in if you have build again now without the anchor in i'm nearly page one for my word it has been slow getting there but it keeps going up. two away from page one. hope this helps a little

Akazzz my link building strategy for this site was diverse in the past Tier1(manual web 20, automatic web 20, AMR), Tier2(scrapebox, bookmarking). But from January 2012 I'm doing only manual commenting to this site.
