Homepage deindexed!

Hi,

I have had this site ranking for some high competitive keywords with some mix of GSA links + blog posts from a reputable seller here.. It has been ranking with a few up's and down (usual stuff) for past 2 months.

2 days ago I noticed some major drop in rankings (from #2 to #165 and same on all keywords), first I thought it was a penalty but I didn't saw anything in the GWT so I kept researching more and then I checked the index status and it turns out that the homepage (which was actually ranked on #2 for quite a few competetive keywords) was deindexed!

I submitted the homepage to the instantlinkindexer now but I doubt this will help.

Site has many unique articles and I try to add 1 new article once a week..

have you guys experience such thing in the past? What would you recommend doing?

Yup you were bitchslapped. Throw out the domain, start new one, change the links with your provider.

It might be because of the GSA links you have built to your website. If you suspect the blog posts to be the source of this drop ? have you ordered the same service for another website ?

Anyway if you ahven't received the wmt message don't throw away the website, wait a few days you might come back stronger and rank #1 this time.

Hmm I expected at least some message on GWT (At least that's how this was happening in the past lol) about unnatural link building lol.

Are you absolutely sure the homepage has been deindexed and not just penalized ?

Yes, when I search site:mysite.com it shows other pages but not homepage (yes I checked other search pages of course )

All you can do now is build and new site and redirect it because you cannot recover from a deindex.

You need to start removing those links that you think are the problem, you will receive a warning and manual penalty. Often the penalties are rolled out a week to two weeks after a drop in rankings. You should expect it to come given the fact your homepage was deindexed.

When looking at your links you will want to identify those links that are pointed to the homepage. When Google deindexes a specific page on a site that means that's the primary page that's violating the T.O.S.

I'm assuming you have a lot of paid links/network links to the homepage.

And what about just redirect index to some other sub-page? If this is some bad penalisation and you will redirect the domain to other domain, thats not a big win. Plus I did such redirection on few sites and trust me, you will need some serious time to see all the previous ranking (if you rank with your sub-pages on some KWs as well). Google just need some time to redirect all the back-links.

What I did last time for my client was that we just redirected homepage. In few hours this new page was indexed in Google and in about 4-5 days it ranked the same position it has before.

No other sub-page was taken, nothing else happened and all links left as they were.

Today I saw that a other pages also deindexed (they weren't yesterday and now my site has 11 indexed pages out of 93 total!).

I did a little research and found some people complaining deindexed homepages one of them got their site back to the early position and the problem was that he had recently placed a script with built in function to check if visitor has javascript enabled and if it's not enabled then redirect to other site which tells visitor how to enable javascript.

I then tested this on my site and it seems that I've got the same problem! Recently I have moved the monetization of this site to a new CPA company and I had to place some javascript code in the head tag I did this without checking what this script really did.. So yeah as we all know Google bot doesn't get javascript so bot probably just was redirected to other page and asked to install javascript lol.

Anyway, I just removed that redirection part from the script and website now fully loads (except small javascript stuff) even if visitor doesn't has Javascript installed.. hopefully this was the actual problem!

I will now add a few more posts and run my site's links in the instantlinkindexer, Will update this thread with results in a few days!

*UPDATE*

Looks like things go okay with the site, home page is indexed again and I see some traffic again!, I think within a week or so I will return to the previous position!

Number of indexed pages went down to 8 yesterday, today it's at 13

I'm gonna buy some blog posts for this site tomorrow, let's see what happens!
