I am currently having a site made where sports fans can post transfer rumours about who is moving where and for how much.

    For example,
Headline = Podolski is moving from Arsenal to Stoke for a few of £3
Body Text = Podolski is fed up of being on the bench for the gunners, he has asked Wenger to move him on to another club during the next transfer window in order to get more game time. He is willing to take a huge cut on his 150k per week wages to make himself available to a wider range of clubs.
    Tags = #Arsenal #Stoke #Wenger #German

My site is mainly going to be made up of these rumours, they are going to be auto approved on my site (with set rules of course)

All I need now is to know how my homepage should be set, should it display my rumours feed in date order as they have been submitted or should I write some kind of algorithm?

The metrics I have available are going to be,
The number of true and false votes the rumour gets as well as the sum of the 2.
    Number of shares via facebook/twitter
    Linked in shares
    Number of comments
    Number of views
Credibility factor - This is true votes/(true+false votes)
Registered users also have a credibility score on their profile page which is summation of credibility factors/total number of rumours posted
My worry is that if someone opens up my site and then sees a load of b/s rumours they will look elsewhere, where as if I have my popular stuff on the homepage then they are more likely to engage.

On my rumours feed, I have a set of filter keys and a set of sort keys
    The filter keys are
    Last 24 hours
    All time

    Sort keys are
    Most Commented
    Most Shared
    Most True
    Most False

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.
