Hey,

I am a freelancer working at home for about a year. However i have tried lots of different things, setting a schedule, dressing up smart to work, but i always cannot stay fully focused and productive.

I sometimes get up late due to watching TV late at night and drift off tasks while working, such as reading news articles. I have made a small office at the bottom of my bedroom which is fairly large, as i still live with my parents.

I am starting to spend a few days at my local library, does anyone else have the same struggles in which whatever you do, you cannot stay focused at home? Does anyone have any tips you could share please to help me stay productive?

It's all about the mindset my friend. Just imagine yourself working for someone else.

Try any type of meditation.

Try different environments ( Coffee shop , library , hot desk space, airport lounge...etc ) . It’s a little cheat code if you don’t have enough self discipline to work from home you’ll condition yourself to work to whenever you get to this environment.

When if you don't do it, you don't eat you tend to get a little more motivated, trust me I've worked for other people who expect twice as much with 4x less the money, go out to work fast food or general labor then get that first check and it's as much as you make in one day doing work from home, it kind of puts a foot in the ass

What worked for me: setting up a minimalistic workspace without any distractions, meditation, working out, finding your why (the most impotant one).

The only solution for me was getting a real office, where I need to go daily. Look out for a shared office, shared table in a co working place

I've had problems concentrating on a single task, mostly because of all the distractions around me (PC, phone, social media, ...) (in your case thats reading news articles)

If you want a good distraction-free working environment, remove everything from your office that you dont need for work. That way you will be able to focus more.

Also install one of these plugins that allows you to 'block' a website that you shouldn't be spending too much time on.

...because you haven't found your calling, your passion, something that makes it harder to sleep at night because you can not wait to start working on your project...

Good Luck

Don't try to focus.

Work on getting rid of distractions

You have to invert focus which means not doing distractions

It's easier than trying to focus

I think you need a good motivation, than its indifferent from where you work.

Look for your personal motivation (become rich etc.)

what you do, I actually wanna do things like you at home
than after the job for the freelance stuffs will do my own stuffs.

Get your own place and know that if you waste your life on TV and lie-ins you will be homeless.

This is excellent motivation.

if this does not work, have some kids.
