I Like this Talent guy.
If you really want some impressive drumming, go to the extreme metal guys and you'll see that most of the drum cover youngsters wouldn't really compare. Still some of the drum covers are fun to watch even if it's just a bit of showmanship. The first video in this thread was not impressive at all, but the second guy was pretty decent with very nice hihat and cymbal groove.
Playing fast and playing well are two different things, but they are not mutually exclusive and very often people do both. Guys like Chris Adler, Dirk Verbeuren, Brann Dailor, Danny Walker, Sean Reinert, Mike Portnoy and Dave Lombardo are very hard to overshadow. I would never say about any of those guys that they sound like blurry noise because I hear so much more than that. And the youngsters we're talking about probably look up to at least a few of them. Some things are quite hard to achieve without putting a good decade or two into itI disagree. There's a strong difference between playing fast and playing well. There comes a point where, if you increase the drum sound and fade everyone else into the background, it literally just sounds like blurry noise.
