Hollywood is in trouble

AI-generated films are getting impressive, showing how technology is reshaping Hollywood. Tools like Runway, Pika Labs, and Sora make it easier for creators to produce high-quality short films efficiently.
 
AI films are getting better, but they still can’t match real creativity and emotion from human storytellers.
 
They are getting there, a couple of years more to go though, good example though.

What is the point of this from a viewing POV? I can understand the lazy and creatively bankrupt churning stuff like this out because it will be cheaper and require no artistic talent or passion at all. That much is obvious.

But as a viewer what does this offer me? It's just a clang of special effects and bad 'acting' and that's it. I don't see what's impressive about this at all except it exists to further erode away the human race's space for creating and expressing to an audience.

There's so much content out there, more than ever. What does this offer that all the streamers, studios, TV stations, platforms and well over 100 years of cinema and TV can't offer? Nothing.

The best film I've seen so far this year was Sorry, Baby. A comedy-drama about a woman dealing with the aftermath of a sexual assault. It was personal, heartfelt, raw and brilliant. Something AI will never be able to produce. Few people have seen it.

But they'll watched a computer generated wall of explosions and clumsily rendered 'acting'. We're doomed.

Same with the video games.

To me, what makes an art "Real art" is being human generated and emotions.

Why did I enjoy these games so much, much more than other video games:

- Resident evil 2 (1998)
- Metal Gear Solid 1 (1998)
- Silent Hill 2 (2001)
- GTA San Andreas (2004)

Etc.

Because they are just funny games and playable? Of course no. But because they had some real emotional music, sad and humane stories, atmosphere, and good characters etc etc. So they sounded really artistic to me.

But now, if AI develops a much better technical games than these, maybe the output will be much more skilled and technical, but the emotions won't exist for me. This is a deep philosophical subject, I guess.

But one thing I am sure, robots will be able to produce much better "outputs" in the end and no one can compete with it.

I assume you were in your teens when these games just came out. Everything feels super exciting when you're younger. It is the same feeling for the new generation and the new games.

Sorry but new generation things suck big time for me. There was no me in 1980s, 1970s, but things came out in those decades are also good and I enjoyed it. But I don't like "almost" anything released after 2010s...

Of course the old stuff was good, but saying that titles like red dead redemption 2, the last of us or ocarina of time can't keep up with older titles is nonsense. They can keep up big time even if you don't consider the graphic aspect.
 
Indeed. The capabilities are growing rapidly. It's smart to think about how this affects existing models and future opportunities.

Same goes for old titles, you can't tell me that duke nukem for example had a good storyline. It goes both ways, old and new titles had good and shitty titles. Percentage wise there might be more shitty titles in the new age but only because way more titles are getting released every year.

Not all old games, movies, songs are good. Not all new games, movies, songs are bad.

But there is a strong quality difference in general. Not just because of release quantity. After 2010s, world is gone shit. In the 90s and early 2000s, mostly good things were popular. In the 2010s and 2020s, mostly weird as fuck things are very popular.

Rap music for example, in the mid 90s and early 2000s, it was taking real talent to make a good song. Good sample melody, good voice, dope produced beat, meaningful lyrics and some hard flow logic and you had to be skilled and unique in any genre. Then in 2010s, and 2020s, there goes frogs sing and stutter on same shitty beats with no actual melody or rhythm and pink head idiots are jumping like a kangaroo. And they are mostly the most popular ones now.
