Hmmmmm hacked

how to protect your wordpress site from being hacked???

if it's wordpress problems you are having just keep it up to date at all times, i had 10 sites on a hosting all using wordpress and all got hacked. I then just opened a ticket with my hosting and they got them all sorted out, it was simple but it's better to avoid this by updating the wp script.

check out your wp-blog-header.phpI had experienced that too in the past.

i know where the code caused hacker get in your site, check your theme dir, see if you found timthumb.php then you need to update this file to latest version will fixed the problem. you can install a plugin called: [h=2][Plugin: Timthumb Vulnerability Scanner][/h]

Guys, Stop installing every plugin you stumble upon. In most cases plugins are the doorway for hackers to get it.

Currently use Login LockDown and WP Security Scan - both are free plugins. Haven't been hacked yet. Knock on wood ;)

If its not the .htacess then it might be a .js file somewhere maybe from the old theme .

In reply to Sente. The sales page re: new sites only (it's a Private Label Rights site), didn't make
any sense, and emails to the developer didn't make things any clearer. His instructional videos need updating.
He couldn't figure out how to make the invisible .htaccess file show. You just check a box in cpanel.

It's likely that he was referring to the sales site. His email to me
says BUB works fine on existing sites. You'll see from "my written instructions" that BUB can't be updated.
The free plug-in "Backup to Dropbox" appears to work fine as an alternative.

I'm not an expert in security, but the mashup I've created should lock down a site very well with or without the
WP-Padlock. The $17 is worth it, however.

don't use additional modules for wp and other CMS. All vulnerability are there. Also try to rename folder of cms, phpadmin, etc.
