Hi
Pretty weird I have over 10,000 backlinks to my site in google webmasters my competition only has like 200 and I can't outrank him. His links are NOTHING special no high PR sites or authority sites... The only difference is that his content was indexed before mine.. Just cant figure this out..

Any Help?

Thanks

domain age? he used 301 redirect method? deep seo optimized contents? deep seo optimized pages?

Probably has something to do with the quality of your links. Are a lot of your links blog comments?

Agree with Bryan

There are many factors that determine your SERP, you have to analyze ALL, not only quantity of backlinks

Yes they are (most) BUT his is also..

Any massive twittr/faceB accounts connected to it? anything that would give him any sort of advantage?

it could be that your competition is using a 301 direct from a different site this will prevent you from knowing all his backlinks. he could only have say 200 backlinks to his site but he could have 30000 backlinks to another site that is 301 redirected to his site which will explain why you cant see his backlinks and he is still outranking you.

Google position isn't only about backlinks

PM me your competitors url i will send complete backlinks to that site including 301 redirectors, max upto 10,000 links.

Possible 301 redirect, but sometimes you have to wait a while for google to update its serps

It could also be the quality of his links. I have a site up sitting at 2nd on Google, and my competitor is above me with less than 400 links. Difference is he has a Yahoo directory listing and about 25 government and edu links!

I have his links list and I am trying to build links on the same sites he has, bar the yahoo directory to see if I can get passed him

Its it worth setting up a similar thing with the 301 redirect ?
