    Hi, I have been asked is there any way to find out the G oogle positions of a website from the past, say a year ago compared to today?

    No, you can't find out rankings from the past using a tool except the webmaster tools (and only if your site was added there at that time! )

    Moz is only tracking positions for as long as you are a member
