hiring seo company

Hello,

We am interested in hiring somebody for seo.
When speaking with potential companies should we be giving them our keywords/website.
I have seen people around the forum suggesting not to mention them openly.

Also when hiring a company how do you monitor if they are doing all white hat methods?
Is it difficult to get banned from google?
We have 2 domains both about 8 months old.
One is for the blog and one for the website.

If we let someone begin with the blog.... in case it gets banned is it possible that google would also ban the website.

I am a bit concerned because it seems like many people say they practice gray hat seo.

Do either of you think it is possible that google would ban both of the domains? If we only seo'd one?

Jenni, I thought the site was divided between white and black hat.
Is this not the case.
Is the white hat here really gray?

This site is mostly black hat so when hiring an SEo for white hat I would use caution and common sense... Go with a legit company, BBB member, can provide you referrals of customers, testimonials, phone numbers of clients to call, etc. I have outsourced from this site before and have given you fair warning.
