I'm on the first page on google, but I get barely any hits. this keyword is searched 1900 times month so I'd expect a couple at least. Any ideas?

Where exactly on the first page? and did you check if that's a seasonal keyword?

your meta description does not motivate people to click on your site?

I'm 9 on google, and 4 on the uk version.

logout from google and check it then... ;)

Or I suggest you to check it with the traffic travis free version. When you are logged in your websites are always on better positions then when you are not if you use wm tools, ga etc.

It will highly depend on the nature of your keyword. Some people are specifically looking for something when searching for a keyword, and if they find it before your site then you won't get any hits at all. This effect will also be magnified if your keyword is seasonal.

That's probably why. Try to push it up a little higher. I had a keyword with around 2000 exact searches, I was ranking #9, and getting like 3 visitors a day.

It's awesome that you are on page 1, however, getting into the upper portion of the page is critical. As you move up your more likely to get some hits and as mentioned before..make sure your description is compelling..

Thanks for the advice.

Solve the problem:

Launch a PPC campaign, throw some traffic on your keyword and see if it really has any impressions.
I hope it ain't too bad you didn't do that initially ;)

May be seasonal keyword or try yo check again after logout from your gmail.Try to write more relavant meta title and meta description related to your keyword.

For MNS, I aim for top 3 to get any decent traffic. Also, check the exact searches for UK. It might be too little to see any hits even in when in #1.

Cheers,

i am #1 for a 1900 exact search term and i am getting only about 20 hits a day so do not expect much. the google kw tool is also not so accurate.

dont expect any hits at #9 for 1900 word...

1900 is not a bad search volume if you ranked at #1 or #2 but ranking at #9 makes a difference BTW, did you check last three months search volume?

Hello!!

log off, change browser, clean cookies, or maybe search volume is not enough? have you searched [exact match] to measure the search volume?
