Highly desired book

Hi Guys,

I have access to an out-of-print, highly desired (and very expensive) book.

I know a guy who can turn this into a proper ebook, but from there I'm not sure the best way to monetize.

The copyright owners of the book invariably hunt down and remove all (very crappy quality) pdf's of this book that can be found online.

I considered torrenting it and charging $11 for a password or something, but I don't know if it's worth it to set up anon payment etc.

Would be grateful for any other methods!

Not sure how wise it would be to post here, but it's in high demand

Why not learn from it and paraphrase it and use it to produce content? That's what a lot of people seem to be doing these days and re-packaging them as videos or blogs.

Trying to profiting directly from somebody else's work poses a high risk of trouble but you could try watering it down.

This isn't a bad idea. I have considered it definitely...I'm just not sure if people would pay for my 'lessons learnt' version or something.
I think the high price comes from reading a copy of 'the book'.
But a good idea

The idea is to wash it as much as possible to keep you out of trouble. Sometimes that means looking for something more long term such as a blog/content creation series. Yes you wouldn't be able to command a high ticket price without any authority, but trying to profit on somebody else's authority is not a safe path to travel.

Cheers guys. It does seem like the safest options. I should probably inquire somewhere around the legality of writing a book about another book, quoting it etc
