Was just analysing top 10 videos for a niche and found this.

WTF??

Total video duration - 2:24 mins
Average view duration - 5:34 mins

That happens if a video is viewed by the same person again, that is, video is viewed till 2.00 minutes and then clicked back to 0.00 to view the whole video again.
From youtube : Absolute audience retention helps you see how often each moment of your video is being watched as a percentage of total views. Rewinding and re-watching can result in values higher than 100%.

That's crazy. By those numbers the average viewer watched the video twice!

Could be a tutorial, many people watch tutorials over and over again. Just saying..

Not a bug but I know view botting does that (with the right values).
I have a (botted) 30 seconds video with 3 minutes average view time, 241% retention rate.
The retention chart gets all fucked up.
