High quality links not showing??

I have about 16 links pointing to my site that still aren't showing in GWT after about 35-40 days has passed. Is this normal? I thought quality links would get picked up by Google a lot faster...

All of these links are really high quality sponsored posts from legit, related sites that all have respectable backlink profiles and don't have high OBLs. Also, my site is performing well otherwise and has never had any low quality links.

I'm hoping some people who know more about this shit than me could possibly help me out with some knowledge. Thanks in advance for your input.

The reason I'm asking is because these were all really expensive links to buy and only a couple of them have been indexed by Google
 
have you check ahrefs? check over there first to see what got indexed. Could be that the links are still not indexed!

I just checked on ahrefs and it does list a couple of the links that Google doesn't list, but it's also missing some of the links that Google DOES list. Seems weird is that normal for ahrefs to pick up links before Google and vice versa?
 
tell you the truth, google does what google wants. So just give it some time and see what happens! :)

Not all links will show in google webmaster tools. As long as the page that has the link is indexed in Google(showing the link), google is aware of the link. See cache in google.
 
I don't really use GWT, but I don't think they ever show all your links. (or just read poster above which said the same).
I also have some big links that's not picked up by ahrefs either, About.com, Buzzfeed, etc.
 
You have to remember that Webmaster Tools isn't necessarily going to show you all of the links - even if they're indexed.
 
Ok that makes me feel a little better about it. I plan on continuing to buy links like these but like I said they're expensive and I need to know they're making an impact. It's just confusing cause I can check 4 or 5 different sites and they all tell me a different amount of incoming links and the links they list are all different from each other
 
Use your ranking movements as a guide, not GWT or any other backlink checker, you'll never be able to find 100% of your links, I think I recall google saying they'll never show all of your links so they can't be reverse engineered...
 
Stop looking in WMT. If you're worried make sure the pages your links are on are cached, if so then move on. The only things that matter are a) are your rankings going up and b) is your traffic going up. You need rankings and traffic to make money, not WMT indexed links.
 
Whether your links are showing in Google Webmaster Tools or not, as long as they are indexed, they will be counted by Google and link juice will flow to your site. I don't even look at the number of backlinks displayed in GWT. It's insignificant to me.
 
As long as your website see some movement in rankings you can assume that links are doing their job. Anyway to get them listed in GWT here are few ways!
Pinging might help to some extent to get them listed or probably ask the back link website owners to use Google fetch and request google to crawl the posts which are linking to your site
 
This is one thing I have to laugh about when I talk to my friends that are starting out with SEO, they think WMT is the be all or end all of what Google has found for links.

It's so far from the truth. I have websites that have 50k+ links (atleast) and Webmaster tools shows 1,000.

As others have suggested, focus on the rankings and now your link count. Add links as necessary and not just because. Too many focus on building more and more links and shoot themselves in the foot.

A few solid high PR links will go a long ways.
