Hello everyone on this amazing forum

So i saw this method in a course i downloaded The method getting is creating a tumblr blog and growing it to around 1k followers then after that when you will post something and if your followers like it it’ll also get reposted on their feeds and thus backlinking ti your website

Do you think this method still works ??
Sorry for my English hope it isn’t that bad

Tumblr is still alive?, OP those good days are gone.

I don't see why a link from Tumblr wouldn't work. I know there is software that can scrape and find aged Tumblr accounts that are already powered up so you don't have to do any other work than just claiming the account and putting your links on there. That sounds like an easier path to me. You may as well just get your website to 1k followers vs the Tumblr blog IMO.

I think someone scammed you with an outdated link building course. Tumblr slumbered long ago.

It’s still a simple backlink from a Web 2.0 (they used to be do follow not sure if they still are). Growing it to 1k followers for these types of links is not worth the time and effort.

The highest quality backlink method that I know of is also the one method that is most abused.

I am talking about press releases.

A lot of SEO professionals think that press release SEO simply means writing a piece of content that is filled with your target keywords.

You then include a few links in the body of the release and send it to SEO-friendly PR release services.

This works to a certain extent, but it doesn't work as well as many people assume it does.

In many cases, they leave a lot of money on the table because a well-crafted press release that is actually newsworthy can turn your website from a zero to a hero.

If you don't believe me, look up the history of OkCupid.

OkCupid was a struggling dating site that is one of several hundred if not thousands on the Internet.

They weren't going anywhere.

Then, they had the idea of issuing press releases involving their data.

It turns out that there's a lot of interesting dating patterns when it comes to races and ethnicities online.

As you can well imagine, given America's obsession with race and culture and that kind of thing, that press release got republished or linked to by many mainstream news websites.

These are news websites that would not in a million years link to a typical dating site.

But there they are, linking to OkCupid, and the rest as they say is history.

That's how powerful a well-written newsworthy press release is.

What is the secret?

Focus on your data and try to come up with a twist that somehow relates that data to a hot-trending topic that mainstream news outlets are interested in.
