High competition keyword?

So I have found a .com domain which is available for a high competition keyword/phrase.

Is this a good choice? Or should I be looking for the low competition keywords?

High competition keywords are a highly subjective matter. 10k local US searches might be high competition for some, while to the more experienced SEO it might just be a walk in the park to rank top 3. When you are just starting out, low competition keywords are recommended since it will give you valuable experience in terms of SEO and ranking.

I like what critman had to say. If you are just starting out, it might be easier to go for the low hanging fruit, but at the same time, make sure you buy up that domain so that when you are an "SEO Guru", you have an ace in your pocket.

If you feel you have it in you to work hard to make this website reach page one, then there's serious potential to earn a lot of money and make it well worth your time. However, if you need cash faster, then it's best to search out less competitive domain names.

Like "The Content Authority" suggested, you should definitely snatch it up if you're confident you can make something of it.

For me, the best keyword is having high searches but low in competition.

You should go with low competitive keywords because it can be easily optimized as compare to high competitive keywords.
