Hi,

I have a high competition keyword which I want to rank for. I can't go to the next keyword and leave this alone.

My question is you guys can help me with SEO on-page or off-page tips to rank into a high competition. I'm opening this thread because I'm sure that basic SEO on-page and off-page would not be enough.

I think is need here for some advanced SEO tips (also, if anyone could recommend an book wich helped you to learn SEO will be great.)

Hope to get some ideas. Thanks a lot.

I'm currently in a similar position - I won't be leaving until I'm #1 for this keyword.

My strategy is:
1. Keep writing content. I'm talking, upload at least 2x new 400 word articles every day.
2. Keep building Web 2.0's - Manually, with unique content. I also keep a spreadsheet of logins, and continually add articles to them. I do this in a random manner, and will end up with around 60 web 2.0's all on different domains with 10 articles each. (Let's hope I hit #1 before then though!)
3. Pay to get the Web 2.0's blasted.
4. All of my content is UNIQUE - and I DON'T mean spun. I actually hand-write all of it, in perfect English.
5. Mix in other services, I'm putting together 100 unique articles to put across a blog network (yes, not spun). Also getting bookmarking .etc done.

Is this tonnes of work? Yes. But this niche is worth the dollars. Anything ever worth it is hard work.

Yeah... is ton of work but I don't mind. Anyhow you can automate some processes from there.

What do you think about SEO on-page tips? How is your on-page optimisation?:P

Thank you

I have clients who always say the same thing, I need to be #1 on this search term within 3 months

I always say the same thing, and that is why?

Why waste money and your time on a high end keyword when you can have a handful of keywords that could bring in twice as much traffic?

Go for the small ones and you will rank quicker and have bigger budgets for the big keywords

I know what you say. The problem is I really can't avoid this competition and I want to test my skills.

:D

This.
I'm #6 on my main keyword that's 150k exacts per month. Seems great, seems like a ton of traffic? Not really, I probably only get about 300-500 visitors a day from that. Now to some, 300-500 a day seems great. But if you knew the time and money that went in, you wouldn't think so. However, I continue to aim for #1, mostly due to ego lol.

But anyways. I have about 100 other sites, where I targeted the smaller keywords in the niche. Anywhere from 1000 excts to 12,000 exacts.
Well its a whole shit load easier to rank #1 for the 12000 exact, then it was to even crack the top 10 of the main keyword. #1 for a 12000 exactly only gets a couple hundred visitors a day, but you get 10+ sites like that, and you're getting a lot of traffic. And on top of that, you're come across some keywords that are extremely easy to rank #1 for.

No offense, but if you're coming here asking about on page, off page, and tips to rank, your skill level is very limited at this time. ANd it has nothing to do with avoiding the competition. It's about being smarter and owning the rest. once you get experience in the smaller terms, you'll have the tools to take the top.

i think content is the king...it may take a long time..but i tink it should be from the content

What I'm asking for is some SEO advanced on/off page techniques. I know the basic ON page and OFF page SEO and I think is not enough.
