I'm getting really sick of the constant disconnecting then reconnecting. I really like the VPN software but something a little more high quality.

Be careful with Strong VPN, as they do not protect your privacy too well:

If you have a little technical knowledge, better option is to buy a cheap VPS and install Open VPN.

I got refund from them coz of this reason. it's annoying like hell. have to find some solution before i subscribe again. any solution to this problem would be appreciated as i think HMA is one of the best when comes to high quality VPN.
The frequent disconnects/auto-reconnects are a major security problem with hidemyass because each time this happens your REAL ip address is revealed without you even knowing it happened. Hidemyass advertises 3000+ ip addresses but you are only able to connect to only 2 or 3 data centers that are close by. Hide my ass are a victim of their own success, they have WAY too many customers using their limited resources.

Yeah, HMA really lost its game recently. They used to be pretty fast and stable. Now the keep resetting, and the speeds are horrible. A better solution is to build your own, no need to install anything and just need a $3 bare bones VPS. Works like a charm. Let me know if you wanna try this route.

Get a cheap vps from burst and then install openVPN. you can also find howto guides on openVPN site.

There are a number of reasons why services like hidemyass are effective. I had a subscription with them before just so I can listen to pandora radio which is limited to US traffic. Another thing I use it for is to manually check rankings easily since by not having a US ip, my results tend to be a bit different and are most of the time very drastic. And the free proxies are too cumbersome to use.
I now utilize hidemynet because of hidemyass' lack of support for ipad (dont know about know) and would recommend them as an alternative.

Must admit that I appear lucky - no problems with HMA in the few months I have been using them. If any other provider could have the amount of different locations as HMA as well as the ability to connect, disconnect or change IP via command line I would take a look.
However, for the moment I am quite happy - their command line functionality is ideal for bot making nd cuts out looking for crappy proxies

Their free service can be a bit slow during EU/US working hours.
At night, it's really fast.
I found this post when I was looking for a provider, I'm currently using "private internet access" with great results, great price also.

Because I'm now trying HMA VPN and all their IP's are of servers in some datacenters and VPS and privacy service providers. I prefer my IP being a part of a DSL provider network for instance.
