There should be an option for who is privacy. It can cost up to $10/year per domain. Some hosts it's free. It all depends.

1and1 is evil though. I stopped using them and let a couple domains I dropped expire over there. They auto re-reg them even though I closed me account and send me bills (plus threatening collections letters) and I closed my account so I have no way to take off the re-reg setting OR even access and use these domains. Horribly sneaky/dirty as far as I'm concerned anyways and no I wont be paying a cent towards domains I have no access to no matter how much they threaten me.

Netfirms offers free who is privacy. You can use coupon code DOMAIN495 to get domians for just $4.95 each. Today I got 20 domains registered

I bought a domain at NameCheap and they gave me free whois protection etc. To be sure I ran a who.is check on my domain and it works perfectly . I recommend getting this with any domain name on the day the domain name is purchased, as I think Google caches who.is pages and even if you decided to get the who.is privacy thing a while after you purchase your domain name, your who.is informatiom may still show up in Google's search results etc.

1and1 sucks on a number of levels. Avoid at all costs.
Some registars (including godaddy) will give you free privacy if you reg or transfer in multiple names (in GD's case, I think its five or more, regardless of TLD). If you don't see an offer for that on a registrars web site, call them and ask/tell them you have multiple names you are considering moving to them if and only if they will give you one year of free privacy.
internet.bs offers free privacy as long as you are the registrant of the domain. Most other registrars, any free privacy is only for the first year of the name.

Check your whoisguard if you have it.usually you get 1 year free protection.at least thats what namecheap does not sure about other providers.but that protects your info.

You can't "hide" your who is info. It's required by ICANN. You can put privacy protection on your domain which will disable people from being able to see your info, but registrars and ICANN will still have it.

Check out namecheap. They offer free privacy with new domains and transfers.
