Hey guys, I came across a website a few days back and when visiting the page it did not let you do anything until you liked the Facebook page which was a box that appeared in the middle of the screen. Does anyone know how to make this work?

I only know HTML so if it involved any Java or PHP can someone explain how to do it.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Search for "content locker" or "facebook content locker"

    There are a few..

Some are really complex, which involve some facebook apps integration which grants you access to friends of the person who liked your page (I hope I'm not mistaken).

    Cheers

    This.

Although to add one thing: I wouldn't recommend it on the landing page. It's a total killer for accessibility. What you might want to look into, is adding as an overlay after the first paragraph of a post. You have to give something to get something. Give them a taste of value at first, and they're bound to repay you.

I have also seen this referred to as "like-gating" which a google search should provide you with many examples on how to do it.
