Hide IP from flash?

hey, sorry for not testing that enough. i was thinking that what was going on was that it was using flash remoting to run that code from the flash file and not run it on the backend server and then download the result, which wouldn't have worked as well.

what do you think about DECLOAK dot NET though? i tried them with a proxy that didn't give out the client's ip and it seemed to work using the flash test. i'm decompiling their source now to figure out what's going on.

Well decloak.net is very good and shows all ways in which they can detect IP address, so thanks for finding this given, eventhough its a bit outside of bounds and its still, in my opinion limited to certain types of proxies.

Without going into much detail, this is always a cat and mouse game, where mouse always wins (that's us), since we can control where our data goes, especially using OS like Linux (eventhough there are same solutions existing for Windows)

This discussion is tightly related to a question wheter or not can big G get your MAC address. Well the answer is: it cannot. Now, if you use Google Earth, Picassa, Google Toolbar and other sw while doing shady stuff, then you can be certain that all data needed for successful identification is transmitted to them.

Same with decloak.net. If you use Java applets, Office documents, iTunes or even Flash then you are potentially exposed. Best thing to do is to remove them all, and use your computer wisely!
