Hey everyone hopefully we can all come to a reasonable assumption that you are never truly anonymous, unfortunately. There is though, a lot you can do to secure yourself and stay somewhat hidden. Over the past few months I have been doing a lot of research trying to figure out the absolute best way to do this. I found one thread that I have read a few times because this person and the contributors were head on, but the OP never provided any closure of what he wound up with. Anyway, getting to the point. The route I was thinking of going was very similar to this with a few changes. The way I would go would be: Linux LiveUSB > Load VPN on LiveUSB > Connect to VPS (either Windows or Linux, not really sure which?) > Run Whonix through the VPS > In Whonix Workstation run another different provider VPN > connect through Whonix Gateway's TOR. This route is provided that all VPN and VPS providers are offshore. See, now my question would be, is this the correct order to run the processes in (mainly, **can you run Whonix from the VPS, or is there a better way to do it**)? I figured this was the best route because it provides a few (5) different layers of security- please correct me if I'm wrong! Another question would be, should you VPN the host computer, or no because when you insert and boot from the liveusb it doesn't matter? And lastly, should you use a Linux LiveUSB connecting to a Linux VPS, Linux LiveUSB to Windows VPS, etc? What would be the best/easiest route for this? PS: Due to the conspiracy over at truecrypt, I would be using DM-Crypt/LUKS to encrypt the liveusb. Would it be smart as well to encrypt the VPS and if so how hard would this be? Thank you so much everyone I know we will be able to get some great feedback here ! Hope to hear back soon!
