I visited a site recently where they have a small little popup, when you 'x' out of it, the X is actually a link embedded that closes the pop up but secretly likes a page on Facebook, was wondering how this was accomplished and if this is something that's steadily out there?

i've seen similar things on this forum. I'm pretty sure they were called Facebook jacker plugins (not entirely sure).

i saw some pages with a plugin called "click jacker", maybe that is what you're looking for
