How to use and utilize the hidden backlinks wisely
 
i think its better to have them visible, hidden links are a violation and obvious, unless maybe you hide it behind a javascript toggle.
 
A hidden backlink is basically what it sounds like—it is invisible to a user and Google.
A backlink that is hidden—whether by manipulating text and background colors or hiding the link in a punctuation mark
 
What is your purpose unless you do not want your competitors to know

No way thats impossible I only see this happening with a PBN but still one can find your links
 
A hidden backlink is invisible to third party crawler like ahrefs, Majestic, Moz and SEMrush etc. but not to search engine crawlers such as Googlebot. Usually third party crawlers get blocked by either robots.txt disallow entries or .htaccess rules.

I think that he is referring to hidden backlinks that are hidden from third party crawlers but not from Googlebot. That‘s what many PBNs have implemented.

he could mean either a hidden html link or a ahrefs blocked link like you said.

This is a SEO forum. The probability is lower that he wants to hide a link from Googlebot. He probably would get penalized for that. Googlebot cloaking is never a good decision.

But yes, let‘s see what he meant. @clarice please clarify.
