I have got some good hidden links, never had a problem. In wikis I would color them the same as the background and never had a problem.
Everything that is a link is a link, and yes it will be a backlink.
How to get this hidden links, is by getting in inside a websites source code without the owner of the site knowing,
Like for an example you create a slideshare plugin, and share it for free. A lot of people install the plugin and then you get a backlink to your site, without the owner knowing, becasue he cant see it. Or you can create a free theme. Or why not insert hidden links inside pictures and rank the pictures for popular keywords, and usually people will finde them and use them on their website, and boom you get a link.
Thats why FREE is popular in SEO.

It's fairly easy, but if you dont have the knowledge, well yeah, you might need one.

Yes, "niche edits". But they don't provide homepage links.
Every where a link is inserted and uploaded to the webb is a link. This is what i think and have seen

So google spends time loading a binary image into memory and checking for links? srsly? pls answer.
I believe he was talking about linking an image to a website which is sort of "hidden", but not really, just a different anchor.
