Hi everyone
I am a software developer from Africa, and I want to be my own boss. Simple as that. I have a son of about two years old, and we have another little one coming July. I want to be able to make my own schedule, so I can have the time to spend with the kids and my wife. I currently work 8 hour days (which is great for the industry I am in, plenty of others work 60+ hour workweeks), but I also spend close to two hours in traffic on top of that. That means I spend 10 hours at least being away from home, and the kids. I would love to get to a point where I can quit my day job, and just focus on IM, and perhaps providing some software\consulting services to some small clients of my own.
I have been reading a few threads on BHW over the last couple of weeks, and have ordered some services as well. So I'm a bit late to the party as far as the introduction goes, but better late than never.
I am new to IM. Have a couple of AdSense sites built out, not ranking yet. And I am working on a site that will be more authoritative in its niche, and I hope to monetize it through Amazon.
I just feel with my background in software (have been developing for about 9 years now), and having above average intelligence (if I can be a bit cocky) I feel that I should be able to create something where I don't have a boss, and a fixed time schedule. I know for a fact that my journey to this kind of freedom will not depend on the knowledge(I have everything I need on BHW, it seems), but rather on the determination to keep going. I tend to get bored with ideas quickly, and then move on to the next one. This remains my biggest challenge in most things I do. I have to figure out how to persevere more.
Have enjoyed reading some of the threads, especially like the method and journey type threads. And I hope at some point I can share my own journey.
