    Hi All,

I'm planning to launch a website(wordpress) and will get only indian traffic and expecting 1000-3000 daily visitors (using some paid traffic from adwords etc). Presently i have name cheap shared hosting (professional plan 10 websites support) So i don't think this hosting plan handle this much traffic.

So i'm checking into bigrock they advertise like Is your website traffic from India? Get 10x faster speeds!

So is it worth to use bigrock shared hosting for my new website with the expected traffic? and which plan is good enough? Presently my budget is very tight so please advise me good hosting.

    http://www.bigrock.in/web-hosting/linux-hosting.php

I heard about VPS is good for high traffic but i think they are costly.

Please provide me any more suggestions.

    Thanks

If most of your traffic is from India, you should go for BigRock (or any other host with their servers in India). Start with the smallest plan. You can upgrade later if your traffic exceeds the allotted bandwidth.

Go with Bigrock because they have servers in India as well. Namecheap is also good, but if you're not selective about the location of the server then you can get very sweet deals in BST section for hosting your site. :)

    Thanks mate for your suggestion

I have a question is it really server location matters in terms of country based traffic? any experience with bigrock hosting?

Is shared hosting ok for 1000 daily traffic?

Server location doesn't matter that much, so you can host your site on a server located in US or India - it won't make much difference. But if you already know that you're only gonna have Indian traffic, a server located in India would be a bit better and a BIT faster than servers located in the US.
I don't have any experience with their hosting.
Shared hosting would be fine for 1000 daily visitors, but I would suggest you to get a VPS once you start getting 1.5k-2k visitors consistently on your site because it would be a lot faster than shared hosting. You could still use the shared hosting even after receiving 1.5k-2k visits if it doesn't hinder the performance of your site in any way, like slow loading, etc.

    iPage is owned by EIG.

@OP, if your current hosting provider is good, better not change. Bigrock has mixed review about web hosting.
