Hi I'm Dyslexic

It's as simple as that, I'm "The Dyslexic" been lurking for ages, and figured I needed to dip my foot into the pool if I wanted to get more out of my experience here. A pleasure to meet you all.

Likewise, how did you get diagnosed? Is dyslexia genetic?

Actually, a nickname I got as a kid. When I was in elementary school, a teacher noticed I had issues reading, and I was sent to a one on one reading tutoring program during my recesses 2-3x a week for a few years, and during the summer my mother sent me to a private tutor to learn mechanics to combat the issue. I just accepted the nickname and made it my own after getting bullied about it, after learning sliding spikes up into a kid at second base was frowned upon as retaliation for opening his mouth.

Edit: Forgot to answer the genetic part, supposedly it is, one side of my family is known for high-functioning illiterates who were great when it came to mathematics but couldn't read past a 2nd or 3rd-grade level to save their lives.

Here's a suggestion for improving the copy: "Similarly, can you share how you were diagnosed with dyslexia? Additionally, is dyslexia believed to be a hereditary condition?"
