I'm brand new to internet marketing. I've been in IT or IT-related work since 1997, but that was always focused on things from a systems architecture or server services capacity. I want to make a shift into using technology so I can make a living more happily and effectively... working for myself making good money from my strategic efforts. I'm tired--and defeated--from gaining money solely by selling hours of my life to someone else.

I've been learning direct marketing techniques--the patterns of presentation, the psychology of the buyer. Now I want to bridge the core of that learning to making the sale. So, here I am. I'm excited to learn--and to carry through.

Thanks ahead of time for sharing all the knowledge!

welcome to the community dude! As someone who is from similar background the best advice I could give is that you really have to think outside the box with SEO/IM - whereas with systems administration its almost the opposite; you have to do everything by the book. So you need that change in mentality I think to succeed in this field.

Welcome! Sounds like you have a great tech background to help building sites etc, so that shouldn't be an obstacle!
