Just joined the forum and excited to be part of this community!
Actually signed up 'cause I need some advice from the pros.
I'm a newly hired operations staff member. And I am reaching out to tech websites to publish guest posts for my proxy IP services site, but I'm stuck on pricing. I know it's supposed to depend on domain authority and traffic, but as a total newbie, I have no clue where to start with a budget. How do you guys typically ballpark a fair price based on a site's metrics like DA, traffic stats, etc.? Any tips for someone who's never done this before? Would really appreciate the help!

Welcome to BHW, and yeah your question is pretty cool as everyone needs proper guidance.

There's no one size guys all answer to this as various parameters as you mentioned are involved.

this is my second post. My boss previously asked me to find some websites for collaboration. If a website is relevant to our industry, we can pay to publish guest posts. For other sites, my boss wants me to discuss partnership opportunities for affiliate links—we’d offer them a 10% commission link, let them promote it on their own to earn commissions (instead of paying them upfront).
But this project has hit a major roadblock. Most of my emails have gotten zero response, and a few replies even insulted me, calling me a spam sender and telling me to “f**k off.” :weep:

I’m just getting started here too. Wishing you a great journey, my friend.

Hey welcome to the forum and good luck on your project/service. Pricing can be tricky but best to just throw a number at the wall you think you would pay and go from there. Consider what seems reasonable but don't dwell on it, you can always change it and adjust if you feel things are too low or too high.

Welcome to BHW! Guest post pricing depends on DA, traffic, and niche relevance. Start small—DA 30+ sites with real traffic can range from $30 to $80. Avoid link farms. Use tools like MozBar and SimilarWeb to check metrics. Happy to help you review sites or build a pricing sheet!

Welcome! For guest post pricing, start by checking the site’s Domain Authority (DA) and monthly traffic using tools like Moz and SimilarWeb

hi and welcome , well you need to make on point DA its important

Welcome! For guest post pricing, check DA and traffic. DA 20–30: $30–$80, DA 30–50: $80–$150. Also check niche fit and traffic quality. Start small, test, and scale. Slow and steady wins the race!
Thank you so much:)

Here is some information that may be useful to you:

General Pricing Ranges (Ballpark):

  • Low-tier blogs (DA < 30, traffic < 5K/month): $30–$100
  • Mid-tier sites (DA 30–50, traffic 5K–50K/month): $100–$300
  • High-tier sites (DA 50+, traffic 50K+/month): $300–$1,000+
  • Premium outlets (DA 70+, top-tier tech blogs): $1,000+
Key Factors That Affect Price:
  1. Domain Authority (DA): Higher DA means better SEO value = higher cost.
  2. Monthly Traffic: More traffic often means more visibility = more expensive.
  3. Niche Relevance: Sites in your industry (e.g., tech/privacy) are more valuable.
  4. ******** Links: Expect to pay more if they offer ******** backlinks.
  5. Link Placement: Homepage or contextual links cost more than bio/footer.
  6. Editorial Standards: Sites that review/edit content charge more.
Tips for a Beginner:
  • Use outreach tools (e.g., Hunter, BuzzStream) to find and track opportunities.
  • Check metrics via tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz before negotiating.
  • Ask for media kits from sites—they often list prices and audience data.
  • Start small with lower-tier sites to build experience and links gradually.
  • Negotiate smartly: Bundle offers (e.g., 2 posts/month) can lower per-post cost.

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything in detail!!Thanks a lot!

Hello and welcome. Sorry cant be much of help, but hopefully you find the right price that would work for you. Good luck on your ventures!

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new role!
You're on the right track by considering domain authority (DA) and traffic — those are key metrics when evaluating guest post pricing. Here are a few quick tips to help you get started:

  • Low DA (20–30): $20–$50
  • Mid DA (30–50): $50–$150
  • High DA (50+): $150+
  • Sites with real, organic traffic (based on tools like Similarweb or Ahrefs) can charge more — traffic often matters more than DA.

Also, watch out for sites with fake metrics or spammy link profiles. Tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or MozBar can help verify that. Try to focus on relevant niches too — a tech blog will give you more value than a general lifestyle blog, even if the numbers are similar.

Feel free to post specific examples and people here will usually give feedback. Good luck — you’ve got this!

welcome to the community replies above said everything welcome again

Welcome to the forum! For guest post pricing, start by checking DA, traffic, and niche relevance. Use tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush to guide your budget, don’t overpay without data.
