I don't think backlinks can help with youtube ranking so much, but I'm not sure as I never did YT marketing.... But I think that views, subscribes, comments and likes, and watch time matters more for increasing views than backlinks because whenever I watch YT (and I watch A LOT of it lately) I keep hearing every creator preaching the same mantra "like, subscribe and comment to hack the algorithm..."

I may be wrong here, but I'm sure the days of blasting YT videos/channels with backlinks to get them to rank are behind us.
The current YT algorithm focuses on things like watch time, CTR %, views, engagement (likes & comments), and new video frequency.
However, if someone would like to correct me with some of their experience, I'm sure it'd help the OP.
