Read this article here:

One of you (which one is it? Fess up - :D) just got sued by Stations Casinos here in Vegas for trademark infringement. From the description of the article it was some kind of adsense/content locker site hosted with GoDaddy.

You need to think something like this through a little better if you're going down this path:

#1 - Go offshore if you're going to infringe like this (and no, I don't recommend infringing like this in the first place, but at least try and make yourself hard to find if you do try this! - that doesn't mean use GoDaddy.)

#2 - You better be sure you have the funds to fight a potential lawsuit if you do end up getting sued (i.e., is the money you're making from the website worth the risk? - probably not in this case).

Just my two cents...

people that have company names on their domains have lots of guts. I stay away from them like a plague.

I don't get it, what was the guy doing?

PS. I have hundreds of sites with company's names and products in the domains.

To get full bulletproof.

Buy domains from internet.bs

And host on some offshore russian or eastern european bulletproof server.

Thats what Lulzsec do lol

Station's Casinos (a large gaming company in Vegas that owns multiple casinos) owns the trademarks to the names listed in the defendant's domain names. For example, if you come to Vegas you'll find there is a Boulder Station Hotel & Casino, Red Rock Station Hotel & Casino, Sunset Station Hotel & Casino, etc.

You can't just take those names and make money with them if Stations has trademarks for them. You'd have to license those rights and pay Stations a portion of the profits you're making.

PS. I have hundreds of sites with company's names and products in the domains.

Good luck to you. Have a good lawyer on speed dial. You play with fire enough you'll get burned.

But I mean what was the guy doing on his site? They mentioned somethign about live resutls or something?

He was posting keno results from different Station Casinos. He created some type of coding/bot to directly pull the game numbers and immediately post them to his site...

Now that I think about it, I'd be curious to know how exactly you do something like that...

Yep that's exactly what I do. Internet.bs is a way better registrar then GoDaddy even if you're not doing trademark infringement.

Been looking for a decent place to move my domains to, thanks for the advice.

$7.99 with no BS having to hunt down coupons, $7.49 with a free year extension to move your domains to them ...

Going to start moving some domains over to see if there's no glitches. Love the free whois protection and from what I've now researched ... zero upselling. Only reading good reviews everywhere.

Station Casinos doesn't mess around. They are owned and run by the Fertitta family. Who else do the Fertittas own? The UFC/Zuffa. Who are notorious for going after people who mess with their product or services. I actually thought this was another UFC lawsuit until I read the article.

I've been moving my registry (both new and existing) from GoDaddy to Internet.bs and I've been happy.
