Hey all

I'm new here. I'm more here looking to find a way of earning some money. I kinda got into one of these affiliate schemes whereby I have to pay money to these folks every month and get other people to me and them money every month (scam anyone?). Really, as much as I hate to admit it I'm here to find a way to reclaim my losses although I don't know a single thing about SEO or marketing for that matter. I found BHW through another site I'm on.

I'm gonna have a look around and see what I can dig up here and see if I can find any way to earn some money withour feeling dirty doing so.

good luck on that part.

the start is hard. it's hard to do what you know is wrong when you're making next to no money to show for it.

but once the money comes in, it gets a lot easier

Your Guide:

Do not buy anything, no guides, no offers, etc.
Read a ton of threads on BHW, before you ask questions search.
Learn more about keyword research, find keywords to target.
Get hosting, domain, and install Wordpress.
Make a site put quality content on it.
Sign up for adwords or amazon affiliate, put them on your site.
Learn more about SEO, this is your biggest focus read everything.
Start link building or pay a reputable person on here for services in BST only.
Ignore any PMs from random people offering to help you with SEO for $.

That's it, just keep building sites, make quality sites, eventually you'll make money.
Takes a very long time, I've been a webmaster for 9 years and I'm still learning new stuff.

Also if you don't take the time to learn things and you do something foolish like buying 10,000 backlinks and your site tanks and you lose everything, don't come back here cry.. It's your own fault you didn't take the time to read, learn, ask questions and check multiple sources for answers. Don't make stupid mistakes, don't buy into making $4,000 in a month, get real and think real.

I plan on spending as little money as possible at first. I know, if I screw up it's on me. I'm here to learn more than anything. As you said it's about reading, learning, asking, checking elsewhere. I'd be happy making an extra $200 a month for now. I personally think setting an "I want to make $50k in my first year" kinda goal is for a lot of people a complete and utter fantasy.
