Additionally, @Plaka Thabab chose to go off-forum to threaten @Heroooo, which they could have been banned for. I chose to keep this dispute open in the hopes of @Heroooo getting a full refund.

We are not inflexible when it comes to dispute rules. We do allow some leeway depending on the circumstances of that dispute. However, if you try and exploit that goodwill then we will ban you - and that is always a last resort for staff.

We operate similarly to a Mall; we offer the real estate to market, people open stores, and we actually go above and beyond helping people who buy and sell on this platform. Blackhat World spends money to help those who rent that real estate but they are not responsible for those that do.

Yea but you provided him platform to scam and vouched that he is legit. Technically it would be nice and your responsibility to cover it so he now lost money for using your platform that you vouched for? That makes you not serious

So I can just open bst and sell service for 3k lets say and as soon as i get first sale for 3k I can run away and nothing ever happens to me? And I have business expense of $200 to open sales thread. So 2.8k in profit? And then I just open new accounts and keep scamming make 1k per day easy. Refund the guy make this right.

People love your site, because they like community, design, services. You are happy about it.


Someone come to your site, register as a seller for $200-300 and scam someone for 3k.

Tomorrow more 5 other or same people repeat.

It's called personal responsibility. Some people just throw their money around, and that's legit.

BHW has nothing to do with it. They will approve you as a seller if you are able to deliver.

BHW has traditionally been a community with a marketplace on the side (as far as I can remember, tbh) - that means that premium or eligible members would be able to offer their products or services in exchange for pay to other members.

Usually, in true forum fashion, there's a certain level of "trust" that comes with belonging to a community. That means that the sort of mindset you'll bring to a table is often evident by what you're expressing in posts, and also displays a certain level of 'professionalism' which will further influence dealings within that community. Once a particular item (service or product) is up for sale, the decision belongs to other community members whether they will engage with the sale. Given the network effect ~ the more people buy and express a positive opinion, further increases the level of trust or reliability and ultimately, revenue for the seller.

If there's a bottleneck, like refunds, negative reviews and disputes, the community is advised to proceed with caution in engaging with any deals with that particular seller. This in turns limits or effectively prohibits the seller's abilities to further extract (like the term: exploit) profit from the community. And then it's up to the staff to decide what action should be taken, in case the behavior is repeated or unpermissible based on the rules of the forum.

While not entirely perfect, having a network like Blackhatworld where it's possible to connect with freelancers, specialist and business people all under one roof is added value for the online marketing world; the marketplace is just a big added bonus.

Let me see if I understand you correctly.

If you went to a market and bought an apple, you went to take a bite out of the apple and found a big old worm in it. You're not going to go to the stall holder and say "Hey, give me another apple or a refund please!" - you're going to go to the people who own the market instead?

We're not setting a concrete date on its release as we want to make sure it is in as close to perfect working order as it can be when released. But keep an eye out for news, it shouldn't be too far in the future.
