Just a little note here. I currently have one of the highest rated videos on meta cafe. You have to read their producer rewards conditions carefully. I will not get a single nickel for the video because it doesn't meet their guidelines. To me, it seems messed up. They say they are a "video entertainment site" and don't consider an array of still pictures a video. Well, technically that's what a video is...A bunch of still pictures strung together. No?
Unfortunately, I can't afford a lawyer to sue them. However, since their conditions state that is not allowed, I won't get dime one.
On another note, if you advertise on your videos or make them too long people will give you low ratings. I did that a few times too. If you get low ratings, people will stop watching it and the video will die. Also, if it's below a 3.0 rating, you won't get paid no matter how many views you get. Anyway, I doubt a video with a rating of 3.0 or lower will would get many views anyway.
I suggest if you want to advertise anything in your video, you just advertise for people to subscribe to your channel at the end of the video. Hit them with a really good video of 10 interesting pics for 5 seconds each with a nice transition between each and a nice title if applicable on each. These should be something that hasn't been done a lot but funny and cute and weird always work good. At the end of the vid, just have a title that says, "If you like this vid subscribe to my channel". Then in future videos, when you have a lot of subscribers, you can hit them with your heavy advertising videos and won't care about the rating so much because you will be getting free traffic to the video anyway.
