Hey everyone... I'm new to this whole thing and I have a couple questions. I have a meta refresh set up on my website to send traffic to a sextronix website. I'm going to list my stats below. I've noticed an arbitrary conversion number of 10% thrown around the forum, but I just want to nip the conversion problem in the butt sooner than later if my numbers are abnormal.

I've only been redirecting to this affiliate for two days, but I'm just curious what these numbers show.

    Day 1: 20 uniques, 24 raw, 4 join hits, 0 attempts
    Day 2: 32 uniques, 36 raw, 13 join hits, 1 attempt

So when it says join hits, does it mean users that have at least clicked and went to join the affiliate's program? If so, then what is the difference when they list "attempts?"

Regardless, I'm still pennyless at this point and I'd like to better understand how this works. Right now I'm getting paid "per sign up," but they offer payment per "active trial," although I don't understand the difference in that either. Can anyone clear this up for me?

I'm also willing to try another affiliate that may convert better... I get a lot of my traffic from social media and videos, so that could be part of the problem.

    Hi Enifrica,

Do you have any sort of demographics on your visitors? You may want to change offers...

A little over 40% of my traffic is from the US and each other country is less than 8% with the next most popular being France and Canada, so I'm not quite sure what I would need to switch things up to help with conversion... I'm getting a more than acceptable ratio of "join hits," but I still don't understand what that means and the difference between that and "attempts."

What I meant by demographics is sex, age, etc... If most of your visitors are 15 years old you won't convert, what is your main source of traffic?

I don't think I can find specifics with the tools I have, but that's probably the issue. Like I said, most of it is social networking traffic and a little from Youtube. I guess I might need to find a way to reach an older, paying audience... I'm just not sure how to go about that. I may need to create an actual website and try to draw traffic from another angle if the redirect just simply isn't converting.
