I'm helping friend with web development for his company. Friend has three domains. One is a short and memorable domain. The two other ones have keywords for his domain. What would be the best SEO strategy in terms of linking and building his site? Really appreciate any help

Hi mate,

the thing with the domain and keywords is great, but why you think he needs actually 3 domains? for the same site?

I think you should promote one site (not the memorable one - cause it doesn't have the keyword in it)

By the way, you must know that people search for websites and most of the time are not memorizing them ;)

Setting up separate sites might confuse the h3ll out of people as to which one's the right one. Also, you don't want to have duplicate content either.

I would probably say just use a permanent redirect. Just have the keyword rich ones point to the nice and short memorable one. IMO

If he is starting out from sratch and is going to be relying on natural search traffic primarily then use one of the domains containing the keyword. Any link you get is then going to target that keyword and the brand name at the same time.

If he has other methods of driving word of mouth then go for the memorable URL and then people will naturally start talking about the brand and what is is all about it and link to it naturally.

Cheers
