Helpful Tip To Help Prevent WP Hacking

I realize that most experienced bloggers already know this, but I wanted to contribute something for the newer guys.

One of the points of entry for WP hackers is the admin login page. Here is a little plugin I found, and I'm sure there are more, to move your admin login page to a url of your choosing. This, along with other measures, can greatly reduce hacking by low and mid level hackers.

This happens more often than newbies would like to think. Most never think of it till they got hacked and everything they built goes to hell.

yeah. I just posted it because its such an easy way to prevent most low level attacks. getting rid of any WP defaults is the best way.

did you know any plugins that can scan malware on wordpress blog. (please don't say wordpress exploit scanner) i use shared hosting, and my account suspended because this plugin.

i don't off the top of my head. being on shared hosting, you might run into trouble as most scanners, such as with joomla, will want to scan the server. but then i don't know everything. malware will invade the serve mostly, and most reputable hosts will be protected with redundant firewalls, so you shouldn't need to worry. you just need to protect your admin and keep WP up to date. You should be fine.

damn it i installed he stealth plugin and now I can't even log in to my admin anymore what the hell can you help me?

Though extremely unlikely, if the plugin does cause you problems, first delete the stealth-login directory from your wp-content/plugins/ directory. Then, if still encountering issues, delete your .htaccess file. You will need to resave your Permalinks settings once your site is back online.

Is this done via cpanel or what? Will I have to contact the person who is hosting my site to do this?

This was a bad idea I should never have installed this shit

This Plugin conflict with some BH plugin especiall those .htaccess and redirection/cloaking plugin. I wont use it anymore.
