Hey guys, maybe one of you WPMU geniuses can help me out. I'm trying to figure out how to get a new blog to be created when a new user registers. I am also looking to have each new blog to have a pre-set theme and settings... Any idea of how to get this done?

    Thanks for any help!

Hey not sure if you found a solution to this or not since this was about a month and a half ago, but I have had great luck with a plugin from WPMU Dev - Sorry I don't have the ability in my BHW account to post URLS in posts yet. You can just google "wpmudev new blog template" I think this will do just what you want. You basically create a dummy user account within your WPMU site and setup all of the pages, categories, theme settings etc...Once created it will allow you to package it together and you can set it up so that every new user created through the WP Add New User interface gets a mirror of the dummy user you created. I have used it in the past and it works great!

Now you mentioned you were trying to do it when a new user signs up...I am not sure if you meant signs up through WP or some other script. This particular plugin requires that the user signs up using the normal WP signup feature. You cannot do it through a custom PHP page or the API because the plugin relies on the information which is passed to it by WP during signup to create the mirror.

    Hope this helps :)
