There is a cialis ad in the title and footer on all my pages indexed in google and I can't find it in the theme or any scripts... Help! http://mrcheckout.net
I'm getting a warning that your site is dangerous so I can't visit it look in the header.php and footer.php and edit it or upload your backup
If google already setted up a warning, you can go througt your webmaster tools account. (create one if you dont already have). Go to "diagnostics" menu and submenu "malwares". You should see where your problem is coming from. Fix the problem, find the hole and ask for a site review. Depending on the times, it's usually done within 24 hours. Good luck!
my advice to you: 1st: change the password on your site's webserver 2nd: take a look at your server and see if you've got any weird looking files/scripts installed... 3rd: delete and reinstall wordpress: if you are still having probs, contact your host's admin....maybe this is a problem on their end (security issue)
Look the steps that i have done for my first and only one hacking attempt to my site. The hacker was PrimeVirus or something..he edited my theme template(after couple of minutes i noticed that) so you chould check and replace with original files the theme first, then to check the header and footer for something unwanted there...But first of all change all passwords and hope that your FTP pass is not the same like the WP login... Wish you good luck.
Yeh, I just had Stupid Hacker hack one of my client sites... Contact your host, see if they can resolve...Mine did... Reset your password to something super secure. Make sure you always have latest WP installed. Dont go uploading or adding dodgy plugins.
If you have Hostgator, they've taken cared of the hack problem in a couple hours. At least from my experience. One thing you could try is: 1. Export your posts, pages, etc... 2. Uninstall and reinstall Wordpress 3. Take the security advice that the other members just told you.
You can install some free security plugins available from word press .org once your back up and running. Not foolproof but should stop the casual defacer from doing injection attacks, exploiting .htaccess etc etc
It is easy to hacked wordpress. My blogs have been hacked 3 times when I was not familiar with how to make it secure.
