Hey guys, urgent help needed here.

In the older versions of Wordpress, we can easily set static page to appear on the homepage by simply going to: Settings > Reading > then set which static page.

But ever since Wordpress came up with 3.9 update; I tried setting my new blog to show a static page on the front BUT the above option has been removed.
How the hell do I do that now? I'm using Genesis theme.

    EDIT:
Dammit, I don't have time for this shit (already searched online and wordpress forums for hours but no one could bloody answer it.). Easiest solution is to downgrade back to 3.8.3, set to static page, then update wordpress back to 3.9.

Thanks guys, yeah, only 1 new domain was having this strange issue. I tried another domain and the static page option was there.

Strange... oh well, thanks again! :)

Since it's only one domain try changing theme and see if it's something to do with your current theme.

I agree with Bluearrow, you might modified your theme.
Switch it to some standard theme like 2014, set static frontpage and set back your theme.

If you use default ver. 3.9, the static page option is still in its place:

May be it's the problem of your Genesis theme. Either try their latest update, if any, or ask their support...

Yeah, here's the strange thing... I'm using Genesis child theme. And the first domain just won't show the static page option. But on the other domain, using the same Genesis Child Theme, the option is there.

    What sorcery is this?!!? lol

But it's okay guys, I just rollbacked to the previous version, configure to show my static page, then update it back to 3.9. All is well now. It is only that very domain that experience this strange issue.

    Thanks anyways :)

Take backup, try removing the theme from the site, and then reinstall it. I think everything will be ok then.
