Help with Youtube Monetization.

So I got a message saying I can monetize my videos, problem is, I don't own these videos, they're just homemade videos I reuploaded to my channel,

I was thinking now that I can monetize my videos could I delete everything that I uploaded and legitimately upload my own material? Would I still be able to promote/monetize on my new videos that i've uploaded?

Have you been invited to the monetization program for one or all your videos? If for one then definitely no.
 
Well I have the option to click 'monetize' on all my videos.
 
Why dont you upload one new video to see if you get that option. If not, then you'll know :)
 
Also, get some video comments on your post to push it up to the top of youtube searches. That will bring your view up, hence increasing $$ for you.
 
I have the option to apply for it on new videos.

I recommend you make new video's and gain revenue on those ones, for the home videos you uploaded you could just leave them be and focus on new material to monetize.

if its a homemade video that no one else uploaded OR if the real vid isnt that popular then monetize it and you should be fine.

Yeah I think i'll do that, maybe put a link in the description of them other videos directing them to my Monetized videos.

None really hit it off, one video is at 20k+ views and the rest are below 1000.

Thats a 100% safe option.
I had some "borrowed" videos in one channel but I only monetized my own material to keep the adsense relatively safe..
pays nickels and dimes anyway..the go would be to get full partnership with preroll ads..way out of my ball game.

Monetize your new ones, not the ones you don't own...
 
is everyone getting this now? I just logged into a brand new account and was going to upload my first video. It had the option to monetize. WTF?

Correct..that why when people start "braggind" and going "I can now monetize" I just laugh..I have some spam/shite/garbge yt channels and after uploading about 3 videos of stills with music..I was being asked to monetize..seriously..a monkey would be asked if you taught it how to log in and upload..:D
